In our roll as administrators we often hear complaints about the use of two factor authentication (2FA), that it is an unnecessary complication, that it adds one more step to an already long process, that there isn’t any need for it and that users have gone without it for years before now.
To this I will say that due to the ever increasing interconnectivity of our world this has never been a more important issue, in the UK an organisation is hacked every 19 seconds and one in every 3,722 emails received in the UK is a phishing attempt. When you consider your email is a gateway to almost every other system you are part of, be it financial, medical or social, the ability to secure it should always be your priority and there are few ways better to do so than 2FA.
Remember, a little inconvenience now can solve a lot of problems later!
